2018 Hats Off Volunteer Recipient!

The Saint Louis University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics (SLUDND) has been an important partner to BYEF’s physical fitness program. The United States Centers for Disease and Prevention reports that the percentage of children and adolescents in the United States affected by obesity has more than tripled since the 1970 with 2015-16 data showing nearly 1 in 5
school age children in the U.S. has obesity. SLUDND has helped BYEF address this problem by conducted nutrition education classes, snack planning, and evaluations and overall nutrition advisory for BYEF’s after school enrichment program.
